SERRA DA ESTRELA, MOUNTAINS AND PURE WATERS 

The Youth Hostel of Serra da Estrela is located in Penhas da Saúde, in the municipality of Covilhã, at 1 500 m of altitude. 

During winter, the Estrela Mountain provides a privileged snow setting - unique in mainland Portugal; at other times of the year, the existing scenario creates a fantastic picture of colour, natural elements and environmental conditions of exception. 

The landscape, the fresh air, the rurality, the traditional culture and customs, the gastronomy, the handicraft, the local traditions, the monumentality of the region and the traditional Beirã hospitality stand out.. 

Youth Hostel managed by: Portuguese Winter Sports Federation (FDI).
